He is the only housemate to continue to make waves after being evicted from the house. I was surprised how upset and defensive Gretel Killeen became when Michael talked about how the footage of him and David was edited to make it look more suspect than it actually was.
At least they actually showed the complete footage at the end of the show. But I am sure what we saw last night was at a different angle and not as prone to interpretation.

The footage they showed on eviction night was from a different camera. It was higher up and behind them. Last night just confirmed for me what an idiot Michael is, but I thought Gretel was very harsh.
To suggest that big brother would never edit footage to make it look like something else actually happened is total crap. They do it all the time. While they dont edit a sequence to change the outcome or what was said, they constantly splice certain clips of footage together to give an impression, which is exactly what happened on Sunday night.
Gretel was wrong!!

You said it Wigs, Gretel was way harsh. But I hope she apologised at some stage behind the scenes as both her and Michael seemed conciliatory by the end of the show.

I was also surprised at how upset Gretel got – I know Michael’s tool-ness has driven me to despair (and I am *so* happy he is gone) but I thought someone like Gretel would handle him quite skillfully. Oh well
It will be interesting to see how things pan out on Rove tonight, whether Rove tries to avoid confrontation, pick a fight, or just ham it up (perhaps with fake “footage” from the house, or even fake “clips” from the Gretel / Michael interview)…
As for Michael the Man: Good riddance to bad rubbish. He is arrogant, opinionated, tactless and outright abusive. He is like a moody teenager testing the boundaries and trying to force his inspired opinions on everyone. I can’t imagine why he could have thought it was a good idea to be combative and rude towards the host of a national tv show on which he was a guest – but then, I don’t care. Kiss goodbye to your political career, loser.

i liked seeing gretel and michael hit it off. she definitely knows how to debate quite seriously. i wasnt surprised to find out that michael actually dug his own grave by making himself the new insider.

Watching BB06 live nominations on monday reminded me of the nature of a sore loser. Michael is clearly clearly throwing a huge tantrum over being kicked out of the house and he has no right. He must suffer the consequences like everyone else. However BB may be responsible for this bad sportsmanship for putting an arrogant bastard on a pedastool from the word go and making him feel like he was something worth while that the show could not do without.
Michael is a character who has so much false confidence he needs to reassure himself constantly a classic example of this was on sunday night, gretel asked him how he felt about the public and very smugly he replies “I dont care what the public thinks of me, they dont matter. I have enough confidence within myself”. This statement was met with many loud boos and hisses.
His appearance on Rove Live last night was also very controversial, as he told rove that peter helliar is alot more funnier than him, NOT TRUE and rude. Another stab putting rove in a very awkward position asking rove if he liked gretel, then stating that he thought mikey or frysy would be a much better host than her. SORE LOSER MIKEY!
For a reality TV show buff he should remember how the public receives people who are portrayed as villains and michael claiming to want to be a political scientist he should be able to understand the concept that there is still life after a tv show, election or campaign.
So instead of being the cause of controversy he should stop his sulking and realise that it is just a game and he should not have to be so rude to everyone and make a name for himself. I am sure that every ounce of his excessive confidence will abandon him when he is about to be beaten in a dark alleyway by big buff BB06 fans who didnt like his style, watch out mikey!

Mikey certainly invoke strong emotions in the viewers. I like your observations Claire. He was definitely a prat. There was no way he could have won, but I don’t think he was given a very level playing field.
I think the idea of the Insider is dumb and I hope BB gives it up after Jade is evicted on Sunday.

Question: Did anyone see – or does anyone know of a transcript of – the later part of Michael’s discussion about the editing? The bit towards the end of the show after all the nominations had finished and Gretel (all smiles) gave him the opportunity to finish having his say? We didn’t see it where I live cos as soon as Gretel said “Talk…” we got cut straight to ads! We thought it was hilarious, but couldn’t decide if it was deliberate on the part of TEN or if it was just our local station making up for a lost ad break earlier in the show…

I heard Gretel on the radio this morning still defending that BB does not deliberately edit the show to create more interesting viewing. She was dodging allegations like a politician and saying it’s all open to viewer interpretation and that BB never said Michael and David kissed and viewers could make up their own minds by the tape. No surprises they showed the unedited ‘kiss’ at the very end as it would give no opportunity for further discussion in stating the obvious, that Michael in this case was right.
