Long Episode

June 30, 2006

Last night we were treated to a one hour episode.  It’s funny, it didn’t seem to be longer to fit more in.  Maybe it had something to do with stopping viewers from switching over to watch the first episode of a new show on Channel 7.  Or am I being cynical again?

We were treated to…

John’s mexican hat dance.

Krystal putting the hard word on Gaelan.  Is that the most uninspiring relationship you’ve ever seen on television?

Ashley wanting to kiss Claire, while Camilla wanted to kiss Ashley. Man oh man!  Talk about cringeworthy!

I think the traffic light task is okay, but have you noticed the amber light doesn’t get used?

Trial was Boring

June 29, 2006

I’m only going to say today that I thought last night’s ‘Housemates on Trial’ was boring and a waste of time.  I think I even fell asleep at one stage.  The meters didn’t seem to show anything.

You can read more about what a farce the LVA software is over at Behind Big Brother.

Where’s the Cheese?

June 28, 2006

How self righteous is PerryDarren has a bit of cheese… Camilla says he can’t do it because they are rationing… Perry says ‘don’t be ridiculous Camilla, let Darren have his cheese…’ ‘and tonight he and I will have another big piece’, she adds with a wink.

I couldn’t believe that the housemates when bullied by Perry were complicit, allowing poor old Camilla to speak on behalf of everyone.  At least Jamie said later on that he felt guilty leaving it to Camilla to fight their battles.

I guess the upshot of all of this, if she survives eviction on Sunday, Camilla will be a much more valued member of the household while Perry is around.

Warning Camilla Warning!

June 27, 2006

Gee, who would have thought being nice to Darren when he arrived in the house would come back to bite Camilla not even a week after he arrived?  I can’t blame her for wanting to get into another bed… even if it is Jamie’s.

I think Darren is a little too intense, and his outburst to Camilla about not taking as a personal attack wasn’t assertive, it was just plain old agressive.

I wonder if that’s how David likes them.

Nominations 9

June 27, 2006

The nominees for eviction this week are…

  • Camilla
  • David
  • Gaelan
  • Krystal

I couldn’t believe that David decided to give one nomination point to Camilla.  So what! She was acting nice over the weekend to avoid getting nominated.  Stone the crows David, would you really begrudge the woman a jolly week off from being nominated?  Too Right!

I hope you’re feeling like shit in light of Camilla being dragged into the list after Claire’s three point deduction.

Finally, the viewers get a crack at evicting Gaelan.  I know I would be happy for him to leave as I think he is the epitome of ‘under the radar’, so much so that nobody can see it!  He is so good at keeping his mouth shut when he needs to and opening it to amuse the housemates, it is as if he has been studying how to win Big Brother under the instruction of Ben (BB01), Peter (BB02) and Trevor (BB04).  People you can barely remember even though they were in the house longer than anybody else in their respective series.

My prediction for eviction is Krystal.

Vote to evict Gaelan!

Adults Only – Cancelled!

June 26, 2006

After half a series, the producers have decided that they will discontinue Big Brother Adults Only for 2006.

I am dissapointed that they have chosen this option rather than tone down the farting, nudity and sexual content so we can see more conversations and the ‘mature’ elements of the characters that justified the program’s existence in the first place.

I’m sure that all of the pervs out there will be in mourning. ;-(

Do Svidaniya Lauren & Rob

June 26, 2006

This weeks evictee's were Lauren and Rob.

Lauren was no surprise. I'm glad she was the one they chose to evict as another boring blonde in the house (a' la BB05's Melanie) would have been too much to bear. I hope she enjoyed her stay.

It was dissapointing that the viewers chose to evict Rob. He has been very entertaining and it will be a shame to lose that spice from the house. I was really impressed with his attitude to being evicted and how much value he placed on the friendships he had formed with Camilla and David.

Regular readers would know that I was hoping it was Jamie who was leaving and as I mentioned to one my regular commenter's, if Jamie is going to remain in the house, let's hope that he gets his act together and starts contributing again. Nomination or no nomination, I can't take another week of sulking.

*UPDATE*

According to Behind Big Brother, there were problems with the voting system for this weeks eviction.  It seems that people were having trouble with the 2SAVE for Rob and the EVICT for Jamie.  Very Interesting.  I doubt there is any way they could quantify the missing votes.  Bad luck for Rob I guess.

Cyclone Perry

June 23, 2006

Not a lot of time for blogging today, but I thought I should mention how much Perry is dominating the activity in the house since her arrival.  She is so energetic!  I’m tired just watching her… or is that because I’ve had a busy week?

She’s very agressive and it was interesting to see her talking to Gaelan about the ‘fling‘ he is having with Krystal.  She made him squirm a bit… and that was definitely worth seeing.  It was also interesting seeing how Krystal reacted to an interfering ‘adult’ that wasn’t her mum.

The New Intruders

June 22, 2006

The new intruders entered the house last night.

Before I go any further, can I just say this to the producers; What in the hell is going on with a 'one hour special' like that? You introduced us to three people and in that time you couldn't even show us all three entering the house? What is your logic? If you couldn't see any other way of fitting *so many* events (sarcasm), into a one hour format, how about you leave out interviews with the Intruder's lock down companions next time. Who Cares!! :-(

Thank you, for indulging me in that rant, this year's series feels like the worst and it's hard for me to maintain the enthusiasm required to write this blog, however, dear reader, I will persist to the end.

Now, onto the intruders…

  • Darren
  • Lauren
  • Perry

They all seem like decent people, but it's hard to tell what their really like with the introduction packages that are put together for them.

Darren seems like a quiet guy. He's young so it's understandable that he's a little shy and nervous to start with. It does seem like he and Ashley will get along well, they are both young and like cars. Ashley is dying to have someone that will talk cars with him.

Lauren seems confident and fairly sure of herself. I don't think she will crack in the house, but I don't think the other women will like her much.

Perry is one of those confident 'grown-ups' who can get away with being cheeky and outspoken. I think she will go down well with Rob because they seem similair… but her and Camilla will knock heads if Perry tries to take the role as the house mouthpiece.

That's my take on the tiny fraction of time I have seen the new Intruders in the house. My prediction for which of the three gets evicted on Sunday is… Lauren.

I, Like, Taught Them Stuff

June 22, 2006

I’m sorry to go on so much about Jamie this week, but his behaviour is just dominating the daily show and some of the things he is saying amuse me greatly.

When he was in the diary room last night, debriefing to Big Brother about his feelings, he mentioned that it was he who taught David how to catch (I’m serious) and be cool (not really be cool, I just can’t remember the second one).  Then he said with a pained expression that he feels like he isn’t needed anymore by David.

How old is this guy?  Has he never had someone not like him before?

Then when the housemates were talking to him later on (Gaelan saying nothing), they said to him ‘have you never nominated anyone yourself?’  He doesn’t seem to get it that this is just how the game is.

He isn’t going to have to deal with it much longer.
