Adults Only – Cancelled!

June 26, 2006

After half a series, the producers have decided that they will discontinue Big Brother Adults Only for 2006.

I am dissapointed that they have chosen this option rather than tone down the farting, nudity and sexual content so we can see more conversations and the ‘mature’ elements of the characters that justified the program’s existence in the first place.

I’m sure that all of the pervs out there will be in mourning. ;-(

I thought it was a waste of time. I did not find it offered an insight into the housemates that I was not already getting from the daily show. And perhaps if they did not insist that it was okay for a 15 year old to watch it and put it on pre 11pm there would not have been such fan fare about it all.

  2. Wigs Says:

Robyn, Robyn, Robyn….it offered boobs ;)

  3. Brad Says:

    Yeah, boobs.

  4. range Says:

Boobs, right. I’m starting to dislike Gretel a lot. She is really annoying in this series. I guess it all started with Michaelgate.

  6. Brad Says:

Girly Girl, if you can’t detect irony, maybe you shouldn’t fucking leave comments on my blog!!!!

  7. Brad Says:

… and learn to fucking type properly!!

  8. Kamala Says:

Actually, if you would like to see the remaining two episodes of Adults Only, they are putting them on the official website under the Premium section. It is the ones named Adults Only Video Features. The first episode’s videos are up now. Okay, it costs $20 to sign up as of now but if you wait a few weeks it will be lower!

  9. Brad Says:

Thanks Kamala, I might consider it if it does become cheaper!

  10. Robyn Says:

Gordon Bennett, Girlie Girlie. Brad (obviously), Wigs and Range are regular contributors to this blog and offer good opionions and criticisms of the show generally. In this instance the boob comment was them having a bit of fun and being ironic.
No one is unhappy for you to express your opinion but I see no reason for you to express it so rudely and without any sort of insight.

I ask myself 2 things about you Girlie Girl.
    1. Why have you visited the blog at 11.42pm on the Sunday night after the sexual assault scandal was annouced. Were you, I dunno looking for footage on the assualt? Bc that seems a bit pervy to me.
    2. Who the heck gives themselves a nickname of Girle Girl? What does that mean anyway? And why does a woman who finds men appreciating a bit of tit on Adults Only offensive (let’s remember that the housemates are aware they will be presented in this way) wish to identify herself in this way?

I can only join in on Brad’s sentiment that perhaps this is not the blog for you.

  11. Wigs Says:

    Hey Girly Girl,

What are you, 12 years old?? It was a bit of a joke. A bit of sarcasm. In fact I have not actually even seen one episode of the AO show this year.

That aside, I think you will find that the whole purpose of the AO show is to cram as much boob, wang and any other rude bits into a one hour show as they can.

And as for the language……it would make Chopper Read blush. Well maybe not but you get my point :)

Anyway girly girl I am not wasting anymore time on your pathetically random post……I have porn to download.

In case you were wondering, that was a joke YOU LOSER.

  12. Chick Says:

I think it is disapointing that they are thinking of closing big brother and not having another one next year……

AO was there for educational purposes and even though most people watched it for the “porn”, “sexual tension” and to get “horney” really thats their choice.

I learned some things from AO that people were to shy or embarrassed to talk about to me. People should think that those HM chose to go on there and they knew the concequences of the show and knew they were going to be filmed 24 hours so reallly if people dont like the show they should just change the channel. I mean they dont have to watch it.

Then that it fair to both the pervs wanting to watch it and the party poopers not wanting to watch it.

  13. mi. . . Says:

man. u guys sure slammed that girly gil prsn!! l0l. but yeh i agree. evry1 is entitled to an opinion but she, unlike the rest of you, didn’t out it across all to well. And Chick, you’re totlli ryte. if they dont wanna watch it dont! i dont see whats so bad about it. sure i might be biased but its still not that bad a show. nd yeh, change the channel. thisa type of stuff happens in ppls houses, ryte under their parents noses. so they cant go cro0k at the HM wen their kids do the exact same!!

  14. Wigs Says:

I think for the most part, the people that complain the most about AO (and BB in general) have never actually watched it). They sit in their Ivory towers and make judgement calls on stuff they no nothing about.

eg. John Howrd called for the show to be axed. How many episodes of BB or AO has he seen. I’m guessing none.

And as for the parenting groups that complain…..stop using the TV to babysit / educate / occupy your kids and exercise some parental authority.

  15. BB Fan! Says:

I’m a little confused. Are you speaking of the BB7-Allstars, or is there another Big Brother program of which I am unaware? I would truly hate to see this program canceled; I enjoy my tacky voyerism. ; ) Besides, if it’s considered “too adult”, why not just tack an “M” rating on it?

Parents should be aware of what their children are viewing anyway.

There’s a lot worse seen on daytime soap operas!

  16. piepmeeta Says:

Sometimes I can’t help but make a move with my strange theft A JOKE! ) When should you use milk to irrigate your fields? When you are growing creamed corn.
