So we bid farewell to the angry young man.
I’m not Darren’s biggest fan, but I did not think it wasn’t very nice of the crowd on Sunday night to boo him when he arrived on the eviction stage. We wasn’t the most likable character in the house, but he was hardly a villain. Not even Mikey got that kind of reception.
Right up the very end he was a central character in the house’s drama… and he sure knew how to get under Camilla’s skin.

I was impressed by Claire’s intuition last night. When Big Brother told her that housemates were planning a mutiny for the Pirate Task and she could choose one person to make an example of. She chose Darren as the person most likely to cause trouble.
Who would have thought that Darren’s banishment to Dead Man’s Island would dredge up such bad feelings for him? It took him back to a time when he was misbehaving on school camp and a teacher made him sit outside which resulted in a case of mild hypothermia for the little tyke. I’m surprised he reacted like this as he was only outside for a half hour. That’s not very long.
It just goes to show you that even the most cocky and seemingly confident people have emotional achilles heels.

We have been given the great pleasure of being introduced to new housemates…
Max is a massive egotist without too much to be cocky about if you ask me. It just shows you what a bit of chuztpah (and frog underpants) can do for you.
Chris, who happens to be rock star in the making has at least one thing in common with the likes of Marc Bolan. He seems to have done a lot of posing in the mirror to rehearse his facial gestures and posings. The key word here is poseur.
Gee, I’m in a catty mood today. I don’t have much time for these kinds of men.
Camilla is salivating at the arrival of new men. I can’t blame her… she is so starved for new people it is driving her crazy. Darren isn’t too excited, which is really funny to watch.
What else can I say? This is really too late in the game for Big Brother to be introducing new housemates. I know they are technically two people down, but surely they could have rejigged the evictions, so that there weren’t any doubles and changed the rapid culling that happens in the final week?

The nominees this week are…
- Camilla
- Darren
- David
- Krystal
There was a brief moment in last night’s nomination show where I was worried that Darren being able to take three points from himself was going to save him from being up for eviction this week. Fortunately, Camilla gave him two points and the rest as they say, is history.
What surprises me is that the housemates knowing that Darren was most likely to take the three points from himself could have nominated him strategically or otherwise to ensure that he did get nominated for eviction. I don’t think he had any chance of winning, but I wouldn’t even let him get close to thinking it was a possibility.
I think it’s safe to say that Darren will be the person to leave the house on Sunday.

Isn’t Darren a most peculiar fellow? He does not seem to possess any characteristic that makes him endearing. There isn’t any spark there and the fact that he and David are friends does seem strange. I don’t know if it’s a strategic alliance so much as a comfortable alliance. David finds Darren cute and likes to hang out with him. Darren needs some kind of friend in the house and it happens to be that David likes him… especially when he walks around in his undies all day. Really, who does that?
He likes to think of himself as a ladies man, even with his supposed flattery, it doesn’t come off properly because, as I’ve already mentioned, he doesn’t have any spark.
I also think he’s a little scary, the way he was skating and charging and rapping on Friday Night Live… he just has that crazy 100 yard stare down pat.
If I was Big Brother, I don’t think that I’d have given him his own knife. We don’t want another scandal on our hands.
With his boyish appearance and his do or die determination, he reminds me of Scrappy Doo with his Puppy Power!!

Jamie was looking particularly lonely last night. He doesn’t have any mates left in the house and it is showing. I feel for him… a little bit.
David and Darren have become the new Batman and Robin. David has spent the last few days educating Darren on the history of religion and war. It seems that David has been on a quest for knowledge for a long time and likes to impart what he has learnt to others.
It seems that Jamie has assumed the role of Personal Trainer much more this week in order to have a relationship with the remaining housemates.

Nominees for eviction this week are…
David decided once again to give his three point deduction to someone other than himself. This time it was Darren. I wonder what David would make of someone with Darren’s character if they were female?
I’m glad Camilla got the week off.
Anyway, the eviction prediction is a no brainer… it’s time to go Perry. I could have told you that yesterday morning!

How self righteous is Perry? Darren has a bit of cheese… Camilla says he can’t do it because they are rationing… Perry says ‘don’t be ridiculous Camilla, let Darren have his cheese…’ ‘and tonight he and I will have another big piece’, she adds with a wink.
I couldn’t believe that the housemates when bullied by Perry were complicit, allowing poor old Camilla to speak on behalf of everyone. At least Jamie said later on that he felt guilty leaving it to Camilla to fight their battles.
I guess the upshot of all of this, if she survives eviction on Sunday, Camilla will be a much more valued member of the household while Perry is around.

Gee, who would have thought being nice to Darren when he arrived in the house would come back to bite Camilla not even a week after he arrived? I can’t blame her for wanting to get into another bed… even if it is Jamie’s.
I think Darren is a little too intense, and his outburst to Camilla about not taking as a personal attack wasn’t assertive, it was just plain old agressive.
I wonder if that’s how David likes them.

The new intruders entered the house last night.
Before I go any further, can I just say this to the producers; What in the hell is going on with a 'one hour special' like that? You introduced us to three people and in that time you couldn't even show us all three entering the house? What is your logic? If you couldn't see any other way of fitting *so many* events (sarcasm), into a one hour format, how about you leave out interviews with the Intruder's lock down companions next time. Who Cares!!
Thank you, for indulging me in that rant, this year's series feels like the worst and it's hard for me to maintain the enthusiasm required to write this blog, however, dear reader, I will persist to the end.
Now, onto the intruders…
They all seem like decent people, but it's hard to tell what their really like with the introduction packages that are put together for them.
Darren seems like a quiet guy. He's young so it's understandable that he's a little shy and nervous to start with. It does seem like he and Ashley will get along well, they are both young and like cars. Ashley is dying to have someone that will talk cars with him.
Lauren seems confident and fairly sure of herself. I don't think she will crack in the house, but I don't think the other women will like her much.
Perry is one of those confident 'grown-ups' who can get away with being cheeky and outspoken. I think she will go down well with Rob because they seem similair… but her and Camilla will knock heads if Perry tries to take the role as the house mouthpiece.
That's my take on the tiny fraction of time I have seen the new Intruders in the house. My prediction for which of the three gets evicted on Sunday is… Lauren.
