Nominations Show – Michael

May 30, 2006

He is the only housemate to continue to make waves after being evicted from the house.  I was surprised how upset and defensive Gretel Killeen became when Michael talked about how the footage of him and David was edited to make it look more suspect than it actually was.

At least they actually showed the complete footage at the end of the show.  But I am sure what we saw last night was at a different angle and not as prone to interpretation.

Stay tuned tomorrow for the Nominations write up.  Remember, don’t vote for an under the radar person.

David and Michael

May 29, 2006

What’s the deal with that kiss we saw last night on Truth, Lies and Eviction?  Were there sparks starting to form with David and Michael, or was Michael once again trying to keep himself interesting enough to stay in the house?

I guess we’ll never know and because the time delay on footage reaching Adults Only is so long.  It wasn’t a very good strategy for Mikey.

I don’t expect we’ll see anything on this until the Adults Only episode next week.

Arrivaderci Michael

May 29, 2006

So long Mikey.  You were an interesting character in this year’s Big Brother House.  I think you made things interesting… but probably not in the way you thought you did.

The erratic behaviour, the torment of being the insider and wanting to be liked, the initial attraction to Krystal, the leanings toward madness, the imaginary son.  You told us so much with your eyes it was ridiculous.

It will be interesting to see how the housemates change and who they will redirect their constant suspicion towards.

Insider – The Next Generation

May 24, 2006

Q. How do you make a crazy person crazier?

A. Appoint them as the Big Brother Insider.

The majority of voters have decided that Jade would be the best new Insider.  That remains to be seen.  She was happy to accept the role from BB (again, what choice did she have?) but as she has said to others, she doesn’t really enjoy being told what to do by anyone.  This was evident at the end of last night’s daily show when called into the diary room (after not featuring in any of the earlier footage), Big Brother set her the challenge of singing all day instead of talking.  What does she do?  “I’m getting a sore throat, I don’t think I’ll be able to talk tomorrow.”  Just like the kid who wants a sick day from school and lays the bait with Mum and Dad the night before.  Michael would have handled this kind of a task with gusto. Damn you bet!

And while on the subject of Michael, his freelance insider work seems a little sad.  Throwing away cutlery, what’s that all about?  And what about David, is he going to join in now that he survived Sunday night?  Big Brother needs to capitalise on the fact that he has an Insider and one (maybe two others?) that think they are the only people causing trouble.

Nominations 4

May 24, 2006

The nominees this week are…

  • Camilla
  • John
  • Michael

I couldn't believe what a prat Michael was being with Big Brother during his nomination voting. What was with the newly adopted crossed arms and V finger gesture? Then he thought that he could outwit BB on the validity of his reasons for nominating Camilla. Tim challenged Big Brother on reasons in BB05, but Tim was actually intelligent. Michael only thinks he's intelligent. There's a subtle difference Mikey!

Anyway, no contest, John is a good guy, Camilla has a new haircut thanks to Rob. It's time to go… Michael.

Self Appointed Insiders?

May 19, 2006

Last night’s daily show had David and Michael possibly forming a partnership to stir things up in the house.  It was an interesting reaction from David, when he basically decided ‘if there’s no money to win, what the hell?’

This is an interesting development in BB06 and I am certain that Big Brother et al have intentionally conditioned the housemates towards these kinds of attitudes.

The Intruders

May 19, 2006

I have now had a chance to observe the Intruders in the house.

Rob is nice, but sometimes he tries the in your face gay guy thing, particularly in his advice to Michael that can at first seem overly agressive. I think this is probably just a self defence mechanism as I believe Rob is probably more of an introvert. I think David thought he was bit filthy at first, but later realised he is actually a nice person with bad hair and odd eyebrow grooming habits.

The house now has a hairdresser!

Jade could be okay. She has come in expecting to be quite powerful and like Elise before her, is finding herself marginalised from the other housemates. I think if she just acts naturally, people will discover she is cool. Just as they have with Claire. Although the talking to herself might draw comparisons to Rachel from BB05.

Danielle just seems a bit blank. She is a girly girl and Krystal found herself instantly drawn to her character. I can't imagine her making much of a contribution to the house. But this is probably due to her being so young.

This year more than previous years, it seems like there haven't been enough mature (should that read old? 🙂 ) people put into the house!

Unbelievable!

May 17, 2006

What a night to miss last night!  I was out attending to important duties in my real life, and hence missed a night of huge drama in the BB house.  No, I’m not talking about the intruders for those others of you that didn’t watch… I am talking about Michael being revealed as the Insider.

Big Brother has created a complete shit storm in the house!  I did tune in to Rove last night as I got home to see the footage of Jade entering the house and footage of Michael hiding (and crying?) in the bedroom then moving to the toilet to hide from everyone else.

According the official website, revealing the Insider created a lot of emotion in the other housemates.  They were shown footage of Michael being devious and he could barely defend himself with the furor created.

I’m glad I taped it.  I will watch tonight with eager eyes!

Nominations 3

May 16, 2006

The nominees for this week are:

  • Anna
  • Ashley
  • Camilla
  • David
  • Krystal

Michael managed to succeed in his task of having 8 people nominate him. Well done! Now, I wonder if he will fess up to the truth about Reuben, or will he continue the story until he leaves the house? I think he might admit the truth tonight after BB reveals him as the Insider. It would be funny if BB sent an 8 year old into the house tonight claiming to be Reuben. But it's not going to happen is it?

My tip for eviction this week is Ashley.

Reuben, are you out there?

May 15, 2006

He continues to be the most interesting (or is that strangest?) person in the house.

Big Brother sets Michael the task of getting eight nominations for eviction on tonight's nomination show. What does he do to get the housemates to do this? Invents a whole elaborate story about how he has this eight (why eight?) year old son named Reuben whose parenthood has just come into question as he entered the Big Brother house.

The way he goes around to each housemate systematically and tells them the spiel is absolutely hilarious to watch… "Hey Man! Have I told you about my kid called Reuben yet?" Each time he tells the story it sounds less and less convincing. And then he finishes the story with: "I don't want to just leave the house, but I really should get out of here." It's like the person at a party who says, "I really must go", when they don't have anywhere to go.

If Michael really wanted to get at least eight evictions nominations tonight, he would tell the housemates this afternoon that he made Reuben up as a joke, because he is bored!! But I don't think he's that clever.
